What is an interior designer? What does an interior designer do?

Indeed.com states that an interior designer is a skilled professional who plans interiors for residential and commercial spaces. They create new interiors or assist with renovating existing living spaces. They focus on the general and detailed planning of interior spaces, considering technical aspects such as lighting and acoustics.

In addition to addressing the aesthetics of their designs, interior designers also consider health and safety concerns, usability, and functionality. They can also take on the role of project manager and collaborate with general contractors and other tradespeople, including electricians, carpenters, and painters.

Does this course prepare you for a certification?

This course allows you to obtain the R.I.D.E (Residential Interior Design Education) credential and is designed to prepare you for the RIDQC (Residential Interior Design Qualifying Certification) certification. Individuals who have the necessary hands-on experience, design-related education, or a combination of both are eligible to take the RIDQC Exam.

To fulfill the prerequisites, you will need to successfully complete this course, which includes passing the R.I.D.E (Residential Interior Design Education) exam and completing the final interior design presentation for review by the DSA. Will I get a Certificate of Completion for the Workforce Development Kit?

The Kit is a library of information and content to be used as a reference while completing your Advanced Career Training. There are no Certificates of Completion for the content found within the Kit. Any activities completed within the Kit will not count towards the completion of your Advanced Career Training. Completion of your Advanced Career Training should be your main goal.

Does the Workforce Development Kit prepare you for a certification?

The Kit is designed as a resource to help in your learning journey. There are no certifications available for this content.

How long will I have access to the Workforce Development Kit?

After you enroll and have a start date, you will receive 12 months of access to the content within the Kit. You may utilize any of the resources at your own pace but should focus most of your goal toward completing your Advanced Career Training in the 12 months allowed.

How will the Workforce Development Kit benefit me?

The Workforce Development Kit is designed to assist you with a variety of professional skills to enhance the specific-career training found in the Advanced Career Training. Resources in the Kit are intended to aid you in employability, efficiency, and productivity in your chosen career path.
